I confess, I'm a happy-ever-after junkie, which is why I read
and write romances.
I've won
the
GOLDEN HEART® award, not
just once, but twice. This is the highest honor an
unpublished author can receive from
Romance Writers of America®.
(see photos). My work
also won
Pacific Northwest Writers Association’s Zola Award and was a
Romantic Times American Title I finalist.
For some crazy reason (probably
mental illness), I was born with an overdeveloped conscience and
felt guilty coming out of the womb. So more often than
not, a theme of regret and redemption runs through my stories.
Wherever my muse might lead me, my
main goal as an author is to entertain readers, whether it's
through comical situations or simply with witty dialogue
that I hope
will make them smile.
The components I enjoy
most in a
novel (besides the requisite happy ending) are witty
banter, steamy love scenes, and intense back-stories that keep me turning pages to
learn how the hero and heroine will redeem each other through
their love. But the element that will turn a novel into a keeper
for me is a poignant black moment that puts a lump in
my throat. Consequently, I include lots
of sexy humor and heart in all of my novels, which
are a blend of comedy and heartwarming, romantic drama.
Regardless of the kind of story I'm
compelled to tell, my
heroes and heroines always tackle their problems with a sense of
humor and triumph through love and support from each other--whether
they want help slaying their demons from the past or not.
And what makes it all so much fun is most of the time they
don't.
So, if
you're as crazy about steamy, poignant stories, sassy dialogue, and
romantic characters with secrets as I am, read my first book,
The Memory of You! And let me know how you liked it.
Thanks for stopping by.
